Guide to Bills of Lading. This guide looks at how Bills of Lading (B/L) work from a practical viewpoint, explaining how errors in their completion can cause problems, alerting you to the potential for fraud, and highlighting areas where you should be particularly cautious.

Maritime Law. This bundle is designed to give you an overview of the legal side of the shipping industry. It covers the ICS syllabus for Legal Principles in Shipping and Maritime Law and aims to improve your general understanding of principles of the law relating to matters that are frequently encountered in the marine and shipping industry. We look at relevant case law and legal precedents to help you develop the ability to exercise foresight in avoiding problems, and to deal intelligently with them if they arise. We start with a look at the general principles, concepts of common law, case law and precedent and how these contrast with statute law before moving on to more specific principles and more detailed analysis of the principles of the law of contract, general principles of the law of agency and how an agency may be created and the precise nature of tort. Please note that English law is the most widely used law in shipping business, with nearly all practical documents of an international nature being based on English Law and that all of the examples concentrate on English Law.

Marine Insurance. Coracle has a strong presence in the Marine Insurance market, providing P&IQ for the International Group of P&I Clubs as well facilitating the education programme for IUMI.
